Vice Dean of Academic: ‘SBM ITB is not to Shape a Super Hero’

“The learning system at SBM ITB is not to shape a super hero but a super team. And a super team may consist of a lot of diversity. But don’t worry because the mother of creativity is diversity,” said the Vice Dean of Academic Affairs, Prof. Togar M. Simatupang, at the Introduction Program MBA Jakarta on Sunday (22/7/2012).

Held in Jakarta, the new batch consisted of students for Entrepreneurship MBA (ENTREE) and Business Leadership Executive MBA (BLEMBA) were having a preparation to start the learning journey while the other two programs such as Sharia Banking & Finance Executive MBA (BASHAR) and Global Leadership Executive MBA (GLEMBA) will have their study in January 2013. Justin Allen Parks, the expatriate student from United States told his excitement to join MBA ITB. “This is my first schooling outside the US. I’m so excited to start my study in SBM ITB, since it is one of the top universities in Indonesia. I am very proud to be accepted as a student here,” told Justin.

The last session in this Introduction Program was a Team-Building Activity delivered directly by Deputy Director for MBA Jakarta, Dr Yos Sunitiyoso. It was a fun business game simulation with a strong emphasis in strategic decision making. Though most of them were having their fasting on Ramadan, but it did not keep them from being energetic. Congratulation for Team 10 as the winner of the business game simulation. They were Nugroho Setyo Utomo (BLEMBA), Ade Maulana (BLEMBA), Anna Tasia (BLEMBA), Jacob Wilbert (ENTREE), Ulva Datischa (ENTREE), and Djefry Tjandra (BLEMBA).

Before the closing, the new batch MBA 47 discussed about the theme of their batch. Led by Justin, every group gave their inputs. Starting from the Avengers, the Great, the Magnificent, to Anak Nongkrong. However, they finally agreed to the theme “The 47 Icons” sounded closely like the 7 Icons girlband. Surely, the 47 Icons would also earn a great success in the near future.
