Business Risk and Finance (BRF) interest group at SBM ITB design the teaching and research efforts to be applied in a cross-disciplinary knowledge and very relevant to the challenges and concerns of the industry. This is accomplished through close collaboration between researchers in academics and professionals in the field of financial sectors.

In doing the research, BRF interest group’s utilize the SBM ITB’s faculty and students academic expertise. Besides that, they combine academic research efforts with the expertise of industry practitioners in the real world through research partnerships and financial services company-sponsored research. They bring together experts from the fields of finance, information technology, statistics, human resources, strategy, marketing, risk management, legal studies, economics, engineering, and other disciplines to develop a portfolio of research topics and approaches. Many projects involving field-based research methodology emphasize the goal of addressing the problems of financial services sectors in the real world have faced.

Along with collaboration, communication is an important part of the mission and activity in BRF interest group. Research efforts are communicated through publications, forums, groups and sponsored conference industry. Many of these activities are done in cooperation with research partners, including other research centers and corporate sponsors.

To assure the quality of the output, BRF interest group has the Industrial Advisory Board, consisting of senior executives and financial industry leaders recognized by the industrial community. Therefore, the board may provide input and insight which is essential for research into the problems of the financial services industry today.
